Alfresco Spaces
Like all spaces, planning is the key to a truly awesome alfresco space. We Aussies truly have a love for alfresco living and this space has the complexity of combining features from the kitchen, Dining Rm, and Lounge Rm.
Step 1. Concept Design
How are you wanting to use this space. Do you want a chill out zone, or party central? Perhaps you want a magazine worthy hipster loving brightly lit area, or are you more wanting the bogan man cave vibe.
Step 2. Spatial Awareness
Consider how this space connects to the main house and existing kitchen. Does this space need to connect to the garden or have access to the pool. How will you, and your guests use this space. This will help you plane how and where the seating might work.
This roof top alfresco area was designed for entertaining.
Our client wanted multiple zones for seating, and space for mingling. The indoor section as beer taps, fridges, dishwasher, an Awesome Alfresco Room, bathroom, and a concealed guest bed for those stragglers who just did not quite make it home.
Step 3. Planning the design
So lets build a checklist of considerations.
What appliances:-
- BBQ
- Pizza Oven
- Beer Fridge
- Sinks
- Dishwasher
- Fireplace
- Ceiling Fans
- Heaters
- Lighting
Tip – You do not need to know exactly what all these items are going to be just yet. You just need to know if you want any or all of them before you start. Awesome Alfresco Room.
